Whereabouts Holidays has selected its top three guided cycling breaks in South East Asia, home to some of the world’s most exotic islands and iconic temples.

Start your discovery of Northern Laos on a slow boat down the Mekong River, before embarking on a five day cycling tour through beautiful countryside. Experience unforgettable culture from day one, along with the chance to witness elephants and buffalo bathing in the river. The first evening is spent in Luang Prabang, where you will visit enchanting night markets and enjoy dinner overlooking the river. You will spend two days cycling north, through rolling hills, green forests and traditional villages. After a cruise on the Nam Ou River to Nong Khiaw, the tour finishes back in Luang Prabang.  

Priced from £1,329 per person, this four night guided trip runs on selected dates from now until January, including a New Year tour.  The tour is full board however flights are not included.

For a less challenging adventure, enjoy a seven day guided tour of Vietnam’s Highlands and Coast which starts in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and finishes in Hoi An. During the trip, you’ll visit the majestic town of Dalat, pass misty pine forests and ride along the picturesque coast to the atmospheric Hoi An, known for its well-preserved ancient town. Prices start from £1,869 per person and run on selected dates in November and December.  Flights are not included.

Experience paradise and Ride the Coast to Samui, or neighbouring islands Ko Tao and Ko Phangan on a five day cycling trip. You will cycle down the beautiful coast of Thailand from Bangkok, along quiet backroads and through national parks full of stunning wildlife. The route is predominantly flat, making the trip suitable for new riders as well as experienced cyclists looking for a more leisurely break. Prices start from £1,099 per person and run on selected dates from November to January. Flights are not included.
