Wine and Culture on Beautiful Blue Danube.

The Danube is arguably more spectacular in the Wachau region than anywhere else. Due to the temperate climate and steep hills, the region is perfect for orchards and vineyards. Our hiking week takes us along the hills of the Danube valley on the long-distance "Wachau World Heritage Trail." The numerous walking trails provide spectacular views of one of Austria's oldest cultural landscapes, complete with distinctive vineyards, apricot orchards, and the stunning Danube stream in the valley. A diverse walking route takes you past steep cliffs, through gentle slopes, and through scented, lush, and thriving vineyards. Little hamlets dot the terrain, and delicious apricot treats are among the remarkable area specialties, not to mention, the famous wine!
