Top 5 Bucket List Destinations

Bucket lists. We’ve all got one, right? It might not be written down, but somewhere, tucked away in our head, is a list of places we want to visit and things we want to do; lifetime goals. Maybe you want to experience living in another country or perhaps you’re holding onto a lifelong ambition to scale a mountain. Whatever’s on your list, it probably involves some kind of travel and adventure, and if doesn’t keep reading because we’re sure you’ll want to add one of our best vacation destinations to your checklist.

So, here goes, our top five adventure holidays abroad!

Peru “the Inca Trail”

Probably high on a lot of bucket lists is the Inca Trail and a visit to the breath-taking ruins of Machu Picchu. Our Inca Adventure holiday takes you on a round trip from Cusco immersing you in the culture of this stunning land. From the cobbled streets and markets of Cusco through the Sacred Valley with increasingly spectacular landscapes until you reach the infamous Lost City of the Incas. On the way stop at the lesser visited (but awesome) Inca ruins of Killarumiyoq, a sanctuary dedicated to the moon and the Ollantaytambo ruins. Don’t miss the chance to soak in the local ‘Aguas Calientes’ (hot springs) before the big day which sees you set off before sunrise (painful but completely worth it) to reach Machu Picchu and some of the best views EVER!

Nepal “Everest Base Camp”

Mount Everest screams adventure so a trek to the Everest Base Camp is a ‘must add’ to any self-respecting bucket list!

Our 2-week trek along a route dubbed by some as “the steps to heaven” can make your dream become a reality as you conquer glaciers, experience Sherpa villages and take in the spectacular photo opportunities around every bend. From Kathmandu, take the mountain flight to Lukla which provides stunning views across the Himalayas and an exciting beginning to your trek. Once in Lukla you head through pine and cedar woods where the air is crystal clear and colourful prayer flags flutter from the rooftops. Spend the next three nights trekking in the area and acclimatizing to the altitude; the best possible preparation for your final trek from Lobuche to the Everest Basecamp. This really is the perfect trip for a first time visit to Nepal and the Himalayas and definitely one you won’t forget in a hurry.
